For most people, martial arts is something Jet Li or Chuck Norris practices on screen. It’s as far from real life as going to space. But for those who practice this on a daily, they know that it cannot only be part of one’s daily routine, but it can be the most crucial component of it.
For Filta’s first social activity of the year, they conducted a virtual self-defense training session with Pro-Amateur fighter Zandrex Villadelgado. He is a part of Fabricio International Team (FIT), one of the most prestigious academies in the legendary cradle of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu since 2014 that aims to provide a friendly and comfortable environment for women, children, and men of all ages or skill levels.
They had an hour of learning basic and helpful self-defense moves. Since the session was done virtually, and the training requires having a partner, Filta Fam participants invited their family members to be their pair – some even used their pets, and for some who were alone, a pillow! All in all, it was fun and action-packed!
Life is a gift, yet it’s still so unpredictable. Learning self-defense does not only help you prepare your mind and body to respond to threats against your safety or your life, it is also synonymous with health as it promotes improvement from physical to mental aspects of your body.
Wonder what’s the next social activity? Join the #FiltaFam and you might be part of the next one! 😉
