Building an International Global Workforce Consultancy

Get a behind-the-scenes look at the challenges of building a successful business with Filta’s Co-Founder and Chief Growth Officer, Nerissa Chaux, who has over 20 years of recruitment experience and over a decade of experience as a business owner.

In a candid episode on Australia’s top recruitment podcast, Confessions of a Recruiter by X-Recruiter, she shares her journey from working as a recruiter to building and selling a recruitment firm to creating an international global workforce consultancy. Don’t miss this insightful and honest conversation on the highs and lows of entrepreneurship.

Starting on Recruitment & Building Your Own Business

Nerissa’s journey in recruitment began in 2002, where she worked as a Senior Recruitment Consultant for various niche and publicly listed recruitment companies in Brisbane and Singapore. After seven years in the industry, she decided to take the leap and co-founded Brown and Chase, a national executive search firm with her husband, Efren Chaux, who is now the CEO of Filta.

For 8 years, Nerissa helped define the company’s unique recruitment strategies and successfully placed candidates in a wide range of roles, from entry-level positions to high-profile roles like the CEO of the Parramatta Eels. In 2017, the couple decided to sell the business, and shortly after, they started their now-growing global workforce consultancy business – Filta.

The Secret to Building a Successful Global Workforce Consultancy and Finding the Best People

If you really want to venture into this kind of career and build your own business with people finding people. You must remember that relationships always matter

“It’s not about the short game, it’s the long game” Chaux emphasized. Whether you are a recruiter or a business owner, you should make building relationships that will last a lifetime matter. People in an industry like ours change people’s lives. We help them achieve what they want to do in life and we’re not just affecting them, we affect their families and the rest of the community.

Anyone can read a resume, anyone can easily pinpoint what role they need for their business to grow but when finding the best ones to work for you and with you, you should always think about asking “What is their driver? What makes this person tick? What do they want to achieve in life?”

With Filta, the beauty of our business is we are not just about “Outsourcing is the only solution.” but it’s about “What is the best solution for your business, the role, and what do you want to achieve?”. And if you want to hire good people and stay on the competitive edge of the workforce consultancy game, you should make people your passion. Make moments that matter, empower them, educate them, and guide and support them every step of the way. That is surely a perfect recipe for success.
